true to size to a bit small in my opinion. i only have two pairs though. The eventa mary janes, which run true to size to a bit small (I also wear a 7) and the brigitte close toe espadrilles, which run true to size.
Mine are monstrously small--I wear an 8.5 or 9, usually about 39.5 European, so that's what I got, and they're so tight I almost cannot get them on my feet (they were a steal on ebay and I am too stubborn to resell them, so they languish in my closet, where I stare at them longingly every day but do not wear them. It's a very healthy relationship). I think they would comfortably fit an 8. But I would imagine it also depends on the style. If the seller doesn't take returns, definitely go for a 38! Assuming they're not strappy sandals, you can always put in one of those little heel pads that tighten up the fit a little bit.
I just got my first pair this weekend. I am an American 10. I've tried several pairs of Louboutins previously and found them uncomfortably small. I got the 41 and it was a perfect fit. I wonder if they changed their sizing though, because I tried on several pairs when getting wedding shoes and thought they were miserably small.
The 41 is consistent with Jimmy Choo sizing, which I think is much more consistent.
i have one pair of louboutins and one pair of jimmy choos, so i'm no luxury shoe expert, but i usually wear an 8.5 in "normal" shoes, but i had to get a size 10 in both of those!!

I would definately size up. Each style is different though but they all definately all run small. If you can post a pic of which pair you stalking I could tell you if I have them and how the sizing ran. If I don't own them there is a good chance that I've at least tried them on. (I like to try on every pair just for fun!)

thanks! I saw one pair that I loved, but I'm really open to any basic pump (closed toe. I have far too many open toe shoes). I'll keep an eye out for a 37.5 or 38.
Hey kittenheels, my understanding is that an American 10 *is* a European 41. Though I don't know why...it seems that many times people equate American 10 to European 40. I could never get my foot in a European 40. It always has to be at least a European 41 for me.
