Carrie Bradshaw: The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.
I agree, Kitty. I think I tried on a lot of the IM stuff, but The only thing that I can think of that I actually bought is a pair of simple kitten heels from a few years back.

I never liked the IM stuff at Target. It was always "off" to me.
Ditto. I've never purchased a single piece from his Target collection. The pieces always looked cute in the ads, but either they didn't fit right or the quality was cheap-ola. I do have to say that the shoes were pretty cute though and the two pairs that I own are really comfortable.
It also seems to me that neither Target nor IM "need" each other any more. IM helped elevated Target's image, imo, and Target helped raise IM's name recognition.
I'm a huge fan of Isaac Mizrahi for Target. I heard a quote, "he's a Piped Piper for women over 35" -- that's me alright.
Actually, I'm looking forward to Isaac Mizrahi for Claiborne. (I hope) I'd like the designs in better fabrications and tailoring. I just hope my size is included.
I really liked his stuff on print, but the sizing ran way too big/long for me. Some of the prints were very loud and big IRL too. I have a bag from his target line I really like though.
I didn't like any of his stuff for Target. I thought the shoes always looked cheap, and the style of his clothing wasn't anything I was ever interested in. Kinda boring.
I rarely bought any of the Isaac stuff since it was too big, but I found this amazing black pencil skirt that actually fit on clearance for $4. Everyone always asks me where I got it because it looks so expensive and perfectly tailored. I wonder if Target is going to partner with another designer when he leaves?
Liz Claiborne has been trying to get the line out of its old, small floral prints, mom jeans sorta persona and into a fresh, younger scene. They named a new president for the LC line, which brought out some cuter, trendier pieces last season. I think IM will def be a good fit for growth.
heh. i used to work for LC and think that IM is a great addition to the design team; their target market would appreciate how innovative he is with color and fit. i think it's great for him/LC
