My BFF is a 44D and it breaks my heart that she can't afford to buy halfway decent bras. Not to hate on Wal-Mart or anything, but that's the only place she can afford to buy bras from but they disintegrate in 6 months. She doesn't live all that close to Target or JCPenney, though I told her to go look at both places because I think those bras would last at least a bit longer.
I want to buy her a few really good bras so that she doesn't have to put up with the underwires twisting and such. I know that she needs a lot of support, but is there anything I need to be aware of with regard to a larger band size (besides lack of availability)?
Also, besides Target or JC Penney, does anyone have recommendations for where I can find nice bras in this size?
I know I am planning on buying her a Le Mystere Dream Tisha (my favorite bra) and I was going to search my local Marshalls which carries a lot of Wacoal for cheap, but I'd love more ideas.
The ladies over at Jezebel just recently had a post about Frederick's of Hollywood and most of the commenters mentioned that it's one of the only places that has larger sized bras and surprisingly some of them aren't as trashy as might seen. Here's the post: http://jezebel.com/342372/fredericks-of-hollywood-not-as-slutty-as-you-might-think-but-still-pretty-slutty
PS: I totally read the title of this past as "....and larger hand sizes".

if you act quickly, figleaves.com has some bras in her size on a really good sale. I know herroom.com is having a sale, too, but I didn't check it for her size.
The only thing I have to reccomend is to maybe get her a to be sized so she's sure that she is actually a 44D? Most people aren't wearing the right size and she may turn out to be another size.
ETA: If you buy from figleaves, use the coupon code FREESHIP8 for free shipping & returns

I can't speak to her size, but will put in a shout out for Felina bras bought at Nordstrom Rack. I find their bras comfy and TTS, and I'm a tough fit, too (32DD). I always buy mine at the Rack because they've got a good selection (Nordies sends all the sizes, not just the common ones, to the Rack.) Le Mystere and Wacoal are other favorites of mine, but you've already mentioned those.
