STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

this is technically a furniture question, but i thought it'd get more responses if i posted it here...

my sister in law is pregnant and due in about 2 weeks. my family is planning on surprising her with a glider or rocker, since she's been wanting one forever. most of my family lives way up in the sticks where there are no decent stores, so they've left it up to me. i've looked at sears and jcp, but haven't been too thrilled with the ones i've seen there. i've been thinking of trying furniture stores, too. i would like to get it at a store so i can try it out and make sure it's sturdy.

do any of you own a glider/rocker that you love? any suggestions?

color: preferably white wood, since the rest of the nursery is white
price range: probably <$250
