coat/dress length?

I have been wondering lately about coat/dress length combo.  Do you think it is ok if the dress hangs out from under the coat like in this pic?

Definately. I think when the hem of the dress shows, it gives a more casual/laid back look.

I don't think it is taboo, but I tend to prefer the coat longer than the dress - cleaner look

I think it looks fine,especially if they are in contrasting colors.
