I recently lost some weight and need new clothes. Today I tried on an armful of designer jeans (COH, Seven, True Religion, etc.), and found that I liked about 90% of what I tried on. I've checked my budget, and I don't have $2000 to spend on jeans right now ;). I want 2 pair, but I can't pay full price, and I never see them cheaper. Where do I need to be looking? Online?
Yeah, jeans don't seem to go on sale very often. I think your best bets would be scoping out a TJ Maxx (some of the ones I have been to have a wide selection of designer denim, but some do not) or Off 5th if you have one in your area. You could also try eBay, although I doubt the authenticity sometimes.
Thanks! The last time I was this size was WAY too long ago, and I haven't held onto anything. Even if I had, I wouldn't want to wear it. I did find a NICE pair of Gap high-waisted Classic jeans buried in the back of my closet. I think I bought them in 2000. Tapered leg and everything! I should have tried them on to see how ridiculous they look now, but didn't have the nerve and sent them to Goodwill.
I don't think I've ever paid full price for denim. Like others recommended, Nordstrom Rack usually has good selection as well as Off 5th. I heard that costco even sold designer denim although I haven't purchased any from them.
rawclothing.com is having a 25% off sale on Taverniti So Jeans. Love them. You should check them out. :) enter taverniti at the checkout for the 25% off.
i scour the racks @ marshall's & tj maxx for designer jeans. the prices are right, but sizes are all over the place. like the ladies said, try nordstrom rack or off 5th. but don't forget to check out the consignment stores. i found a BNWT pair of James jeans for only $18 (the retail price was $198) and scooped them up.
Cricket, do you have time to drive to Nordstrom Rack? I was there last weekend and they had RACKS of jeans (Seven, Joes, Paige, etc) for $79.97. Also, I know it's a drive for you, but if you come up to the Arrowhead area, the new Lake Pleasant Marshall's had quite a few designer jeans for about the same price. I definitely saw some TR Joeys. (They also have theory pants on clearance for $60!)

Thanks again for the help and congrats! I've worked hard and feel great!
FP- I started the book, but joined the Boot Camp at my gym. I'm glad I did, because I've learned so much and worked out much harder and longer than I think I would have on my own. My 3 month session ends next week, and I'm not doing it again. I'm starting Body For Life again. I did send the book to my husband after I joined Boot Camp, and he LOVES the program. His body has changed so much, and it's really working for him. He's going to send the book back, and I'm starting the workouts next week. I've started the diet again, though. It's so easy!
HB- I'm going to have to make a trip over there. I was just at the PV mall, so Arrowhead area is no biggie. I wish I could do it sans rugrats, but I'll just have to go when the big one is in school and take the little one. Can't do both of them! Where is this new Marshall's? Is there anything else around there I might be interested in?

It's at Happy Valley Road & Lake Pleasant Parkway, so maybe a 10 minute drive north of Arrowhead. If you take Bell to 99th, you can drive straight north and you'll see it. They just opened a huge shopping center over there. Nothing terribly exciting, but there is a Super Target and the usual chain stores: Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Shoe Pavilion, etc. I think they just opened a Ross, too, but I refuse to go there unless I absolutely have to, so I can't say if it's any good (doubtful).
The Marshall's was pretty bad the first time I went, but I was there last weekend and they actually had some decent stuff. I saw some cute Via Spiga pumps on clearance for $39, too.

I've never seen any designer stuff at TJmaxx. Do you have to live in a well known city with great shopping to have designer stuff show up at TJmaxx? The one we have in my area is ghetto.
