Meet Fala (Please forgive that I look like absolute crap in the picture )
We rescued him from the humane association (or they rescued him and we adopted him...) He's about 2, and is a Shih Tzu- Pomeranian mix. He's so friggin cute!! I'll post mroe pics later- he has an underbite with a little fang tooth so he looks mean. lol!
He's crate trained, but not house broken so we have some work cut our for us!! anyone have any tips?
Congratulations! He looks such such a soft cuddle bug!
We're going through potty training with our puppy Stella now. She's also crate trained, like Fala. We take her outside first thing in the morning and walk and walk for a while. Sometimes she'll do #2 but almost never #1. Then we bring her back for breakfast and take her outside immediately after she's done eating. It can help if you bring out a used wee wee pad or newspaper that he's already used, and place that on the ground where you want him to get used to going to the bathroom.
Stella is still having accidents inside but she's getting better.
eta: We walked her for hours this morning and she still wouldn't pee outside! I'm a little worried about her, that she must be very uncomfortable and confused. (The vet told us to not take her outside until all her shots were done and that's why she was paper trained first.) I know she'll get it eventually.
OMG! He is sooo cute! Congratulations and I'm happy to hear you rescued him.
With Boo Boo, the wee pads were no good. I felt they encouraged him to pee in the house. Crating him worked well and worked fast. He was completely housetrained within a month.
