well, i am in the middle of nowhere in uganda and I need a dress for a ball (didn't expect to have to pack for that............) i have one week. I do not think i have time to order something in from overseas (unless you guys have recs for fast shippers in europe) but there are great tailors here so i figure i will have a dress made.

any recs for where to find a pattern that i can print off online? (not a gown, but a nice cocktail dress- i was thinking a simple theory-style boatneck sheath)

I haven't had any luck finding patterns online but have you inquired with the tailors yet to see what they use for inspriation/guides? I know that tailors in Thailand & China can create patterns based on seeing a picture of the garment alone.

I was going to say the same. The tailors back home (I'm from Nigeria) can make anything by just looking at a picture..so I say go online find a dress you like and show it to them :)
