I had to replace my ancient Ultra Short sand Uggs, and when I saw these Uptown II's in Espresso at DSW for $150 with one pair left in my size I couldn't pass it up. I'd always wanted a taller, darker pair of Uggs because of their softness and the darker color hiding stains better.
Question is, will I look ridiculous wearing these, especially since I'm in SoCal? They're so warm and toasty, plus they fit my calves (!) but if I'm going to look like a fashion victim, then I don't want to keep them.

They're quite cute (and this is coming from a non-Ugg lover!) -- but I agree that they are kind of borderline for LA. If you love them, though, I am in support.
Lilykind, I think you should keep them. Because even though we don't get so cold as some places in the East Coast or Midwest - it still gets really chilly here and personally, I couldn't survive the winter anymore without my uggs. Perfect for going to the beaches, the mountains, and walking the dog in the morning/night, hehe.
I snapped these up for myself about a month ago too for this winter since my short [uggs] were also on their last leg.

if your feet will be freezing, i say keep them! i doubt people will think you are a fashion victim if it really is cold, they'll probably wish that they had some too
I was going to rock them on really cold days tucked into pants (as well as underneath wider-legged/flared ones Also), I thought they might be cute with leggings (thermal or thick wooly) and skirts. Still not fashion victim?
