May I proudly present the fruit of my labors, the West 92nd St. Custom Desk!



The first thing I have ever designed THAT HAS BEEN BUILT. She's 6 feet 3inches, strong and healthy, with walnut-veneered plywood construction, gray lacquered drawer fronts, and steel-and-leather handles. Behind her left cabinet are three DVD-storage drawers, and in her right drawer stack she's got a cable box, dvd player, office supply storage, and lateral file storage. She was brought into the world by our talented Scots cabinet-maker, and the only sour note at her delivery was her adoptive mother's insistence that I should have made the chair opening narrower, despite my conviction that to do so would overly cramp the sitter's movement. Thus I learn the cold lesson that I will never make anyone happy for the rest of my career. But, doting mother that I am, I think she's perfect!
