I found a Nine West pair like this for $35. They were extremely comfortable, especially considering that patent shoes usually rub my feet. But I am wondering if the whole bright patent + peep toe thing is going to look dated soon. Opinions? If you like them, how would you wear them? (for work especially)

Oooh, those are pretty! I think you could wear them with grey or black full length pants, cropped pants or pencil skirts. I think they may also look cute with white pants, but I'd have to see that on. They could add a cute punch of color to an otherwise conservative outfit.
If they're $35 and really comfortable, then I say go for it. Although patent is a trend, it's been around forever in one variation or another, so I wouldn't worry about them looking too dated soon.

Love the idea. I think they will work for Fall and then when the weather gets nicer in spring and summer. I would wear them with muted outfits so that the color will really be able to take stage in your outfit. Especially if the price is right and they are comfortable, I think you could get a lot of use out of them.
I have that 9 West pair in the blue you are speaking of. I love them, and get lots of compliments on them. I have loved patent leather forever, so I have been buying it up now that it is so easy to find. I will be someone who is rocking those shoes long after this patent trend is over. For $35, I say go for it.
