I'm trying to extend my wardrobe into fall, but am having a hard time finding pieces I like. What are you guys looking into getting? List anything and everything - clothing, shoes, accessories, etc.
The only piece that I have picked up so far are some leopard print pointy toe flats that I searched for all over last year and then I really want a red leather tote.
i'm having a hard time posting pics, so I'll describe what's on my list:
- everything from the August JCrew catalog especially the cuffed trousers, the short sleeved ruffled blouse in spiced wine, a cashmere cardigan to throw over tees and camis, trouser cords
- cheetah print wrap dress from banana republic
- trouser jeans
- metallic ballet flats, probably from cole haan
- a few other short sleeve or three quarter sleeve dresses
- low-heeled tall boots in brown
The weather doesn't cool down here until Nov-Dec, so I try to buy lightweight things in fall-ish colors.
I don't really shop for a season. I just buy as I go. But here's a few things (or types of things) I'm on the lookout for.
My coworker has a couple of headbands like this in red and white (leather). These are satin or grosgrain (and $42 - for a headband?) Perfect for all our skiing/snowboarding trips (my short uggs will need to be retired soon)
Some fun (but affordable) jewelry like these:
I'd love a new fitted leather jacket (maybe brown or grey?)
Subwolley - those headbands are from Nordstrom. I'm still waiting for the stores to put out more fall stuff, but for now I'm planning on getting cords a new coat some new boots, something like this
I would like more cardigans, a couple more pairs of jeans (at least one skinny pair for boots), and another pair of riding boots (i wore my pair to the ground). I'd also like a riding jacket/blazer in this vein:
i really love fall clothes (especially plaids/menswear pieces) so I can't wait.
I've bought some cute dresses that I can wear to work with boots or heels and two bags. I think the piece I'll use the most is a black short sleeved cable sweater from BCBG. I can wear it over short sleeve shirts, and it looks nice over long sleeve blouses for when it gets colder. I plan on picking up a pair of wide leg jeans, but they're something I have to try on IRL instead of ordering online.
nothing too extraordinary - I just picked up a few new cardigans yesterday and I plan on buying more flats (and then boots) as the weather gets colder and I can't wear espadrilles anymore. I figure that investing in cardis and more fall-ish shoes will help my summer drops/dresses last a bit longer. Maybe I'll post specifics if I find some really exciting pieces :)

Like, Halleybird we really don't have fall here either. It stays hot, and then suddenly gets cold. I have wanted to make this dress for awhile after seeing it on Demi Moore last year. I saw Michelle Pfeiffer wearing a solid black one exactly like it on Jay Leno last night so I had to have it. I ordered the pattern and this fabric: I think it will be a good transitional piece. I haven't been too motivated to sew lately because I can barely walk through my sewing room it is such a catastrophe. Also, I love this gap dress, but $69.50 is too pricey for that dress (for me), so I am going to attempt to make it out of some blue fabric and get me some zebra flats to wear with it.
