FP - Did you ever do Zav's curtains?

I'm in the process of trying to get some done and was wondering what you did with your arch.  I don't want to completely cover mine, but I need to block most of the light.  I HATE those weird fan things, plus I couldn't open it to let in light.  My window is pretty much like yours:

No, not yet, but I need to. Hopefully sometime within the next few weeks I'll get a chance to go to the seamstress to get them done. I promise to post pics when they are done.

We all must have matching windows wink

I had originally bought some netting-like fabric to cover the arch, but ended up not needing it.  Not enough light comes through so I skipped it.  This is as close to a picture as I could find so bear w/ me.  I hope the explanation is understandable.

I was going to drape the fabric from one point, not sticking out of the wall, just partially covering the arch.

Not sure if you just want curtains, but you can get wood shutters custom-made to fit the arch. We have arched windows in our LR, and I love ours. I hate those sunburst things too.

I was going to do that, too, but I'm afraid TOO much light will still be coming through.  It's very bright in that room in the morning, so it much be facing near the sun in the morning.   Not a good thing w/ a baby!

I'm also thinking about this:
tall windows with arched curtain rod

The fabric I bought is a pink-on-pink damask with large turquoise ruffles at the bottom.  Very campy and prom-dressy.

That is very similar to what i'm doing.  I bought two sets of ready made brown panels and am having them sewn together w/decoratve trim so they're long enough.  And I got a thing to hang inside the arch to attach the curtains to and had tiebacks made in the polka dot fabric of his bedding.
