My friend is getting married in Charleston, SC in early September. It's a 6:30 wedding at a church. Her dress is beaded with a 4 foot long train and the men in the bridal party are wearing tuxes. Can I wear this dress?
I'd probably wear bronze strappy sandals, my purple clutch and wear a shawl in the church. Is this okay or do I need to go dressier? (I'm clueless on wedding attire.)
Does it say anything on the invitation, website, etc. about dress code? I can't tell what it's made out of, but I think it's probably glam enough for a dressy evening wedding -- although it seems like there is a slight chance you might be expected to wear a long dress.
Cool. I don't have the actual invitation yet, but I have the Save the Date card. I just know about some of their details based on conversations w/ the bride and their Knot profile. It's more formal than I had expected out of this friend--she's very casual, athletic, and laid back and I expected her wedding to be more along that line. Good to know this dress should work though.
I attended a wedding where the groomsmen wore tuxes and we ate off of styrofoam plate/trays like the kind you had in middle school. I wouldn't let the groomsmen dress code dictate the formalness of the wedding.
I think you'll be fine unless the invite comes with a 'black tie optional' mention. It's very cute and can be easily dressed up.
