my reunion isn't until sept 1st, but i have been obsessing about it for months. i got this beautiful miguelina dress in march, but i am unsure what jewelry/shoes to wear with it. there is a cameo at the bust, so i don't want to do that, but i was thinking a simple deco-style necklace like this one by lulu frost (featured in lucky), but haven't found anything in my price range (i've been scouring ebay, too):
here is the dress:
ideas? elle!? want distraction from cleaning?
eta: my price range for necklace is up to 100, and preferably under 100 for shoes, but up to 150 if they are amazing and rewearable.
Honestly? I don't think you need a necklace at all. In fact, because they're is so much going on in the upper half of the dress it might even detract from the overall look.
Some long, sleek earrings would look awesome though if you'd be willing to go that route instead ......
What criteria do you have for shoes, besides the price? Heel? Styles you can't wear?

I agree that a necklace would be overkill. That dress has a lot going on "on top" and I'd look at doing some very simple earrings - a hoop and stone drop, or some such. And maybe a bracelet, but really I don't think it needs much in the way of jewelry.
I also don't think you want your shoes to distract from the dress. Black strappy heels (not *too* strappy) will complement it beautifully. I think with that dress, your chest will be the main attraction. I'd let that stand on its own. You'll knock 'em dead at the reunion. :)

I agree - no necklace! But earrings could be very nice
At first I didn't notice the sleeves of the dress and I thought it was just a black skirt with two lacey strips going up your chest and I was concerned

I understand what you're going for with the 30's vibe and the deco necklace. I'd like to suggest another ebay search. many deco necklaces like that are czechoslovakian, otherwise known as "czech deco" (there's czech deco pottery too with geometric airbrushed patterns.)
anyway, some people don't know how to define deco, and many of these necklaces are marked "czech" so I did a search only with keywords czech necklace enamel, then under jewelry, selected vintage/antique.
