The zoom on my digicam broke when I foolishly took it to the beach (damn sand!), and it's pretty clunky, so I am going to get a new one. Does anyone own either of these? (Sony Cyber Shot DSC-W55/P and Sony Cyber Shot DSC-W80)
Are there any other cameras that people recommend? I'm looking to spend around $200. I was looking at the Canon's, but they seem pretty pricy compared to this one for the same amount of megapixels and zoom.
Thanks! (I know this should go in tech, but I figured it would get more traffic here).

I have the newest older version of the cybershot, also in pink:
I love it. It's the perfect size, and has all the features I need (I'm not the best photographer... but I will mess around with b&w, and the other stuff it has). My only complaint (and I found this out later) is that because the flash is really close to lens, I get red-eye in pretty much any picture that is taken in a dark background. That said, it's a super easy fix on the computer, and I don't even know if you would have the same problem, since the model you are looking at is slightly different.

i have an older sony camera and the only problem i have had is that occasionally it says there's a problem with some photo files so it won't let me see my pictures - i'm not sure if its a problem with my camera or with the memory stick. but i've had it for about 3 years now and it still works well other than that.

that happens when i delete some pictures through my computer, and not through the delete function on my camera.
sony cams are good and sturdy. i'd recommend them!
I own two Sony digi cams. The Sony Cybershot 5.1 mega pixels DSC-W5, and the Sony Cybershot 6.0 mega pixels DSC-S500. I really love the 1st one, we brought it back in Nov. '05, to ME, it takes better pics. than the newer higher mega pixel camera. Not sure why, but I still use both of them.
