Two different colleges in Ohio have accepted me, so I am driving down this weekend to check them both out. In addition to touring the colleges, I will be spending two of the days with my boyfriend.
I will be there for three and half days. It's been forever since I have gone on a trip, and I am not sure how much in the way of clothes I need to pack.
I have a final on Wenesday,so I am going nuts trying to study and pack at teh same time.
Here is what I have planned to take so far.
Tops.
4 t-shirts, 2 tank tops,1 long sleeve shirt,1 cardigan sweater.
Bottoms.
1 pair of jeans,1 pair of pants,2 pairs of denim capris,2 denim skirts,1 pair of shorts.
5 bras and 6 pairs of underwear,2 pairs of socks, 2 sets of pajamas.
I have 2 handbags picked out. I havent decided on how many pairs of shoes yet, I need to try them on with the outfits, but I hoping to only take 3 pairs at the most.
So what do you girls think? Am I packing to much? Or am I packing to little? Feel free to add or take away things.
The weather should be in the 60-80 degree range. I plan to keep checking the weather on-line before I leave on Thursday.
TIA

That seems like an awful awful lot of clothing to take for just three and a half days. Two pairs of pajamas?? If that was me I would take four shirts, one pair of pants, maybe a skirt and four days worth of skivvies. And that's it.

I agree with Relrel. For 60-80 weather I would probably take 2 tees, 1 tank, and 1 shirt,1 pair of pants, 1 pair of jeans, and choose between the skirt or shorts (not both), 4 panties, and 2-3 bras, and one pajama set.
First of all, Congrats on being accepted to the schools!
I agree with the other girls. I think that is too much. I would take 2 (maybe 3 just in case) t-shirts, 1 tank top, 1 cardigan and 1 long sleeve, 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of capris, 1 skirt, and 2 bras. I think 3 pairs of shoes is fine only if one pair is being worn on the way over there already.
Thanks girls. I figured that was too much,I always over prepare.
Okay I think I will go with.
3 t-shirts(including the one I will be wearing on the ride there). 1 tank top. 1 cardigan sweater. 1 pair of capris,1 pair of jeans, and 1 skirt. 1 pair of pajamas,3 bras,4 pairs of underwear. 3 pairs of shoes. I will be wearing the one pair on the drive there,so that should work fine.

Cat- What schools are you visiting? I graduated from a college in southern Ohio.
Ohio University and Ohio State University.
I went to Ohio University and I currently live in Columbus, so I'm familar with both! Your list of clothes looks good. O.U. is a casual campus- students wear T-shirts and jeans to class and jeans and cute going-out tops at night. From what I've seen, O.S.U. is similar, clothing-wise. Let me know if you have any questions! (I'm hoping you like O.U. of course)
Wow, you pack like I used too! Just plan exactly what outfits you want to wear on what days and just bring that. I'd only bring one set of pajamas. I'm a socks person, so I'd personally take a pair for each day and an extra pair. I don't see a need for so much underwear. Just one pair for each day and an extra pair. I always keep in mind that if I need something else while on a trip that I didn't pack that I can just stop at Target or something. Also, don't forget accessories and a toothbrush!
Cat, check out the travel checklist and chart links on this site, it's pretty neat especially the travel chart. The wardrobe chart is GREAT too, I've been using it like crazy. Congrats on your acceptances!!!

Cool. I don't have any questions yet,but I after I see the area I might. My choice between the two is mostly coming down to the location and housing.
