Well- the skirt came and the skirt went. It was a gorgeous color in real life, pretty close to the color on the screen- perhaps even more vibrantly hot pink. However, it ran hugely big. I take a large in just about everything on this planet and the large fell completely off of my waist. The cut was great though, it had that soft elasticized waist band that you could roll up or down depending on your mood (or your belly...) and the linen-cotten was all nice and crinkley. All in all, it was a great skirt...just didn't fit worth a damn. I did take it back to the J Crew store today and they had a ton of colors (lime green, turquoise, orange, black, and white) but no pink. I tried on a medium and a small in another color just to check sizing for you. I would probably go for a medium but could have worked with a small as well. Nice for the ego! I loved the skirt and would have taken another size if it was available in the store. I was just too lazy to order the different size- it's way too difficult to get stuff shipped to the new place.
I think the skirt would fit perfectly into your wardrobe and your upcoming baby-having life- but order a size smaller than what you think you should.
And in case anyone else was interested...here's the skirt:
