So, I sold a vintage dress on eBay for like $10. The seller got the dress and is claiming that it's not vintage and that it's just a "cheap sears dress" that I need to refund them.
The dress is from Sears, but a dress can be from Sears AND vintage. I tried to explain this.
How the hell do I prove something is vintage, anyway? The dress is definitely NOT from any time recent.
No real advice, but just wanted to say what turds some people are! Ugh, they nitpick over every little thing, and expect you to just refund them like a normal store. I'm a person who's getting rid of stuff!
You didn't misrepresent an item, and vintage is a relative term. Some people say it has to be 20 years old, some say just a few years old. The word vintage is thrown around all over ebay. Bleh. I wouldn't refund if I were you!
Don't refund. It sounds like you didn't do anything wrong or misrepresent anything.
OK....ITA! I'm soooooo sick of ebayers being totally unreasonable. And seriously even if it wasn't "vintage" she needs to suck it up, move on with her pitiful life, crying about $10! Ok thanx for letting me vent
Now, she's saying "If it's vintage, tell me exactly what year. The tag on the dress doesn't look vintage."
What a brat! If she liked the dress who cares what brand. I would definitely not refund her money. That is a risk you take with buying on ebay. I would just come up with a year close to what you think it is or tell her when you purchased it from where ever. Good luck!

How ridiculous some people are! It only cost her $10! She's probably all pissed off because she was expecting designer. I'd just make up a date for her to shut her up. Crap like this is why I don't do returns.

She is damn ridiculous! She probably can't squeeze her ass into the dress. Yeah make up a date and tell her to jump in a lake.

Vintage is open to interpration(sp?) of the person either buying or selling the item. If she wanted more specifics she should have asked BEFORE buying the item.
Besides , sears has been around since like the 1800's. So older items from sears would def be vintage.
IMO I wouldnt be refunding her, it seems unreasonable. I am so Over selling on Ebay, buyers are such a pain in the ass. Jeez, your not freaking nordstrom!
This is definitely the last straw for me. I've had so many problems w/ people on eBay. It's just not worth it. The stupid dress was $10!! I'm more annoyed on principle than anything else.
this buyer sounds like crap! i haven't had as many problems selling on ebay, but i am haggling with some girl who keeps telling me she has had credit card problems on paypal, and "should" be able to pay me later this week. (this was after she told me she had to get a new credit card) i told my husband about this and he was like "she probably is overextended and had to wait till another paycheck!" i think a lot of complaints on ebay are people with buyers remorse.

I have a strict "NO RETURN POLICY" on my auctions for this very reason. ( unless of course it is damaged) I HATE some Ebay people. I have never been sp mad at invisable people in my life hahaha. I recently bought an "authentic Kooba" on ebay and after 2 mo it fell apart. The lady started out great and said she "thought" it was real blah blah blah....then I send it back to her, and she says that I RIPPED the purse...whaaaaaa? Long story short I got my refund, after practically telling her I was going to sue (hehe). I would put a comment in your auctions about NO RETURNS, that way if someone tries to press a ridiculous issue like this, you have yourself covered. Good Luck... karma I tell karma......
