IM for Target is making wedding dresses now?! On one hand, I think it is really nice that these dresses are so affordable for those people who need it, even if they have to get it tailored anyway...but then I think "wedding dress from TARGET?!"
i think it's great - my dress is from jcrew - i'm sure some ppl thought "wedding dress from jcrew?" from the images, it looks like a decent line of well-priced wedding dresses

I actually love JCrew dresses and have thought about wearing one as my wedding dress (when that actually happens)...but I, for one, do not care for the IM line at Target in general. I would be interested in seeing one of these dresses IRL. I do think the one I posted is pretty though.
I really love the one you posted, and some others don't look bad. Part of me says "a wedding dress from Target?!?!?" as well, but I'd have to see some in person to really give an ultimate opinion

I think they're great. You only wear a wedding dress one day, and if you're on a budget, it's a great place to save some money. If I liked one enough, I'd get it and have a seamstress add some of the details I wanted to it. I think it'd be a great way to get a basic form dress and add to it.
I wish the Target veils were around when I got married! I think I paid around $200 for mine (not even made out of anything special - just netting) and IM's are $19.95.
I love the idea of buying a simple dress and adding your own embelishments.
I think it's great. A lot of dresses are just way too overpriced. It's the same way with men's suits, after a certain price you don't really get anything more for your money.
overall, i think it's great that there's another low cost option out there. some wedding dresses are totally overpriced. i am interested to see the quality IRL, though.
it makes sense for some people to spend less on a dress -- my sister's style is pretty simple and classic, and she ended up with a beautiful silk dress from jcrew as her wedding dress. she spent $300 on it, and she lended up leaning over a votive candle at the end of the night and burning a hole in it. and was able to let it go, b/c she wasn't thousands of dollars invested in the dress.
I think it's cool. I have zero desire to spend tons of money on a wedding dress. I actually love the ones from JCrew, too. I want to have a simple, small beach wedding (either that, or Vegas) and JCrew dresses are perfect for that.
Hmm, I actually think those dresses are pretty. I think it is awesome to offer people more affordable options for weddings. So many people go completly broke planning there wedding.
They're pretty! I definitely don't think there's anything to be ashamed about if you wore a wedding dress from Target -- in fact I think people who don't break the bank on weddings should feel proud!

I totally agree. First and formost the most important thing is that you and your guests have a good time and enjoy each others company. Expensive dresses and over priced flowers, while nice, don't lend to that.
I'm not sure why we have such a cultural obession with costly weddings.
