How do I see where stuff comes from?

Sorry if this has been addressed, but I couldn't find it by searching.

I just got a mac and I can't figure out how to view the properties of a picture so I can see where items are from. When I control+click, I don't have a thing that says "properties" so I don't know what to do.

Can someone help please????

I believe it's called "Get Info" or some other rubbish on Macs, instead of "Properties".
