Do you know how old that picture is? If I'm not mistaken, that picture is from a year or two ago. I actually saw a magazine article about how great it was because it worked on sooo many different body types and they had pictures of vastly different bodies in it, and they all did look good. Still, I haven't seen it IRL so I guess I can't know for sure. Photographers can make anyone look good

Isn't that the roland mouret galaxy dress? It was really big about a year and a half ago and was seen everywhere. Karen Millen made a cocktail dress knock off in a stretchy satin that was sold out everywhere.
I have seen a number of pics of versions of this dress in mags on a variety of bodies and it does seem to look pretty good on many. Adds curves to those that don't have them and has a built in corset to make the most of them for those that do.
I was very tempted to get the Millen version at one time but like the more casual plaid version as well.
I love it but not everyone could wear it. Are you thinking about getting it or one that is similar? I can think of a few s-t members that could rock it...halleybird& cali come to mind first

I was actually thinking of making it. I keep eyeing this Vogue pattern and it just looked so familiar. Then I ran across this pic of Demi Moore and I knew that was what had triggered my memory.

I like the plaid one featured on the model but with the flip bottom of the solid blue. I am almost tempted to get one made myself. Too bad I can't sew.

I didn't learn to sew until I was 29 years old. I had sewn in home-ec in high school but had not done anything with it since. I was basically a beginner. A very patient woman taught me in a sewing class I took with a couple of my friends. If you decide you want to learn, it is well worth the effort. I go through spurts where I am burnt out and don't sew for awhile and then I get on kicks like I have been lately where I make a few things.
