ugh. me too. i'm trying to get patterned tops, but i'm just venturing into stripey terrority.
I have lots of solids, too. But I am not a "floral" person, so I have a hard time finding prints I like.
I have too many burgundy shoes -- 3 pairs, to be exact (suede round-toes, velvet maryjanes and leather peep-toes). Now, I like all 3 pairs, and I wear them occasionally, but who needs 3 pairs of burgundy heels?
I also have too many pairs of black sandals - 7 pairs of heeled black sandals, to be exact. Again, I do like them all, but come on!
I have a tendency, when I really like something in my closet, to buy more things very similar to it. I never realize it until later, though.

Halleybird, I have the same problem with black sandals. Why do I always convince myself that I need another pair?!
I also have too many pairs of black and grey pants. I can always justify their purchase though, because I think, "Well, I can wear them to work..." but then I still only wear my favorite five pairs and the rest sit in my closet.
Winter scarves! And casual totes. I used to buy them constantly in search of the perfect bag to bring to class with me. Now I'm a lawyer and they are all too cute and/or casual.
I have too many jeans, bags and solid tops, like tanks from ON. I love colorful patterns, but I can't seem to stop thinking that they make me look silly. My mom tried to count how many jeans I had. She stop counting after 20 something. I love to buy new bags, but for some reason always use the same 3 black Longchamp bags. Small for the weekend, medium for work and large for when I need to carry a lot stuff. My mom and sister go "shopping" in my bag closet (my husband bought it just for my bag collection) whenever they needed a new bag. They haven't bought a new bag in about 3 years.
LoL! This poll is so funny how brutally honest we can be! I, too, agree with the undies! I have one of those platic bin rolling drawer cart for undies - that are categorized in 3 categories (for 3 drawers): 1. Everyday - cotton, comfy, cute, 2. Pretty/Sexy little things (as VS says) 3. The "uh - please don't go in there", "for that time of the month", or "I just don't care" panties
And on top of that I still have 3 more drawers in the closet for "sets", bras, and things that didn't fit in the first 3 drawers. LOL.
Also have to join in on the jeans - my entire armoire is stacked with jeans.
I have a tendency, when I really like something in my closet, to buy more things very similar to it. I never realize it until later, though.
I do the same thing!
I own waaaaay too many "fall colors." I swear everything I buy is navy, brown, black, or rust. I even wear the combo in the summer. The thought of a nice-floraly-spring outfit gives me the shivers. I can't take it! My sister teases me about it mercilessly throughout the spring/summer months.

Unfortunately I have too much of everything. Tons of undies, bras, pjs, tanks, sweaters, going out clothes, work pants, the list goes on and on. I have put myself of a ban and it makes me sad.
