My glimmer of hope...
Permalink Closed

So today I bit the bullet and told my boss I was bored and (again) requesting more work. I also asked her what other departments she would consider me as a strong job candidate for. We discussed my job dissatisfaction and that I'm not actively looking for a new job outside of the company, yet, but would soon if things didn't change. I also mentioned a few departments that I would apply to if a job were open.

As we left it, I am making a list of things I want in the perfect job. She is going to find a few new things for me to do. She is also puting the word out that I wouldn't mind a transfer.

So, I'm making a list!

Good for you!  That's an important, but difficult, dialogue to get going.  I hope things work out so you don't have to start looking elsewhere.

Good for you!  Your boss probably realizes what an asset you are to the company and will do whatever it takes not to lose you.
