Need decorating ideas

My family and I are in the process of repainting the rooms in our house, the finally completed my room. I wanted purple since its my favorite color, now I need help as far as what colors would look good and compliment the color. What color comforter should I buy? Any ideas please help! Here are some amateur photos of my room:

I recently had a purple bedroom, and I had orange accents. It sounds strange, but it works.


In college I used dark purple, lavendar, and a spring green and I LOVED the look.


And, in a post college apartment, I used a deep purple and a deep red/burgundy to accent a very beige room. I love jewel tones!

I agree that shades of red and orange would look great with your purple walls and dark furnishings.
