I don't smoke but my dad does. I'm concerned about my mother's health (also a non-smoker). The only important details are these: he smokes cigars (pretty much all day), he won't quit, and he smokes indoors.
I accept that he might make himself sick. I can't accept that he might make my mom sick, although I know it's a possibility. Are there any websites out there that give good information on how to live as healthy as possible in a smoking household? I've tried looking but to no avail.
I'm a little tentative posting this topic, because the whole subject is not something I'm terribly comfortable with (given that I'm in no position to significantly help anyone and my interference has already caused problems). Anyway, without my dad quitting, is there anything else my mom can do to try to limit her exposure to 2nd hand smoke?
Any advice would be helpful but please, nothing scary - I can't take it.
Suggest an air purifier. I don't know how much they truly filter, but I love the idea of them. It would be best to have one in the rooms where he smokes, but I would also recommend having them throughout the entire house.
A couple I am kinda aquainted with smokes, and they were trying to sell their home, so they set up a lot of air purifiers around their home, and the barely smelled of smoke (and I'm sensitive to it). I'm sure an air purifier would help some.
