I've seen her this week on Ellen and on Jimmy Kimmel Live promoting her new show Dirt, and WOW she has the most incredibly glossy hair I've EVER seen. It was especially glossy on JKL, and I can't find a video yet because it was last night. It's not as pronounced in this compressed video from Ellen, but you can still see how shiny it is:
How does she get her hair so glossy? The amount of light reflecting off her hair is far beyond the results most people get from an ordinary shine serum or spray. Is there a gloss treatment other than a clear toner (I've had that) that I can get at the salon? Do some color lines impart more shine than others?
I am no expert, but I think that brunette hair is just naturally shinier, and you can get shine-enhancing shampoo, glosses, etc. I think using a straightener also helps a lot because it smooths everything.

you're right! brunette's project more shine... when i work at industry shows, i always grab a brunette out of the crowd (and one with blown out or flat ironed hair) to showcase our shine spray on. you can always notice the difference more with brunettes than you can with blondes.
