I'm so sad to hear this... and yet I'm glad they didn't keep it dragging along until it got stale. I do love this season but definitely can see that it would start getting hoky if they pushed it for another couple years...

ETA: HB, don't worry... the end of the OC will never mean the end of Peter Gallagher's eyebrows. Those things are a force of nature.

Oh, and so funny you all mentioned Peter Gallagher's eyebrows. That's the first thing I said to my coworker today when we found out it was cancelled: "What will we do without our weekly fix of his Brows of Concern?"

i just googled this to be entirely sure and there are quite a few reports saying it is a rumour as well.

i just can't bear to let it go... has anyone seen any actual confirmations from FOX that they have cancelled?

It was confirmed in the paper here in Chicago this morning. I am so sad. I really liked this season. I am going to miss Taylor; she cracks me up.

I'm so sad, the OC is my favorite show and I really loved this season. I know ratings have drastically dropped but I wish they would have at least tried moving it to another night first. There's a lot of competition on Thursdays.

I just read on Perez Hilton that the CW has expressed interest in picking up the OC. I hope it works out!

i find this season enjoyable, but i do think its kind of hokey. I think Marissa dying off changed the show way too much- its completely different now. And while no one seems to really have liked Marissa or her acting chops, i DO think her character was important. Maybe they should have cast a different actress from the get-go, but regardless- I'm not surprised its being canceled.

oh good! hopefully they pull it from Thursday night and move it to another. That night is the devil with all the good shows that are on!

I am sad but maybe the show has run its course. You can only have Ryan revert to his old ways so many times, or Seth and Summer break up and get back together, etc. Those eyebrows are perennially fascinating, though.

This season has been so good, too! What were they thinking putting it opposite Grey's Anatomy?

Who watched last night? I think the banter between Seth and Summer totally makes the show. And Ryan's hotness. And Sandy's eyebrows.

But as much as I love this show, I think it has run its course. I mean, didn't they already have every single of family member of Ryan's come back already -- his mom, bro and now his dad? To keep the show going the writers would have to dig up some extended family!

I still miss the old days. And it won't be the same without Summer going, "Coooop!"

I am SO SO sad. This season has been better than the last! I just hate that it's cancelled. Only 7 more episodes left.

They should have tried switching the night this year so that it wasn't up against CSI and Grey's. That's actually when the show started to lose viewers, back in season 2 when they switched nights. I just hate getting attached to shows because these days it seems like they all get cancelled. And Fox is the worst - I can't tell you the number of shows on Fox that I used to watch were cancelled.

What am I going to do without my weekly OC fix?

The show has gotten so good again! They are doing count down commericals for it now - only 7 episodes left. Very sad.
