I wasn't around for these last year, but I'll jump in for '07:
*Only buy items that go with at least two other items in my closet. I tend to just buy a lot of tops, then a lot of pants, so I have plenty of clothes, but not necessarily outfits.
*Hold out for something I love rather than something just because it's on sale or right in front of me.
*Take better care of the stuff I do have. For example, I have lots of great pumps and sandals, but I wear them to death and many desperately need heel/sole replacements.
I'm sure I'll think of more, but this is a good start... and now that it's written down, I'll have to hold myself to it!
Mine from last year were to get more accessories to spice up my outfits, add some more versatile tops to my wardrobe, and get a new cocktail/dinner dress. 2 out of 3 isn't bad. I now have lots of versatile tops and I got three dresses last year! I didn't get many accessories though. I tried wearing more belts and it just didn't work out.
For 2007
1) Once again, experiment with accessories
2) Buy some patterned tops, since I have a lot of solids.
3) Continue to weed stuff out of my closet. Doing two major closet cleanouts in 2006 was very theraputic!
4) Wear skirts more often. I have a ton of skirts that I love, and I always opt for pants at work because I walk to the metro and I'm a cold weather wuss.
I can't remember if I made resolutions style-wise last year...but here are mine for this year:
1. No impulse shopping except under extreme circumstances - like a piece I have been stalking for months showing up at Loehmann's in my size.
2. Buy some fun belts. I have had fun with sashes, but I need some belts that are cool.
3. I liked what I did with my patterned top resolution, but I think I still need a few more - maybe not silk - but printed cotton or something else.
4. Buy the epi alma in red. I have been stalking that bag for two years...I plan outfits around it now...so I need to save my pennies for a few months and just buy it!
5. Incorporate more scarves and headbands into my wardrobe - even at the office. I have a short, flippy little bob - so I've been hesitant to get too into fun hair accessories - but a pretty scarf can perk up a really boring outfit.
6. Try to do a "style workout" on pieces that I love but that I'm not wearing enough - maybe I'm just not thinking of the right combinations or something?
7. Take more things to the tailor. I have some older cashmere sweaters that are really nice but need to be redone - either by changing the neckline or another simple modification that would get me much more wear out of them.
8. More necklaces. I love how they make me feel and I wear them a ton, so I should invest in a few more...I wear my coral beads almost once a week - so they could sure use a break!
- Buy quality over quantity. I will only drop $$$ on things i love - and I tend to take care of those things better. It's okay to buy cheap stuff each season, but I want the majority of my purchases to be quality.
- Stop shopping online. I almost never like the stuff I order online.
- Wear what I already have. I have a huge amount of clothes - so many that I forget what I own and then those pieces get neglected. I need to make an effort to re-integrate old pieces into my wardrobe.
- Buy comfortable shoes for work.
- Be better about a shopping budget.
- Get more accessories like sunglasses, hats, watches, etc.
I don't think I posted last time, but I tried to wear more dresses/skirts, and I do. That said, I need to buy more dresses! I also tried really hard to buy *only* things that fit me really well. For the most part, I did that. For 2007, I'd like to shop less, but have the courage to spend money on the things that are really worth it.

This year's goals: 1. Though I'm pretty happy with what I bought in 2006, I still need to control my "sale goggles". I looked in my closet the other day, and there were still too many items with tags on them. I must not do that!
2. Get a nice designer bag, rather than 2 or 3 smaller-label, less-expensive ones. I seem to go in cycles with this, and 2007 is the designer bag's turn to return.
3. wear jeans less often. they are so easy to care for that I don't think I can give them up. But I will try to cut down.
4. acquire a bit more jewelry, maybe a few unique pieces as well as a few more basics. One of my bosses is a self-proclaimed jewelry addict and it's quite contagious.... I've resisted thus far, but it's becoming increasingly difficult.
5. Be bolder about ordering things online & less bold when shopping in person. I know the psychology to this... and I need to beat it. I have no problem dropping $300 at the mall buying 4 or 5 things that are just "ok", but I won't order a pair of $150 jeans I've had my eye on forever.
6. Keep cost per wear in mind at all times. Sometimes I will buy 2 pairs of $80 pants that are just okay, rather than fork down the $160 for the fabulous pair I really love. I need to realize that it's better for my overall style, not to mention closet space, to buy what I really want instead of a few things that almost cut it but don't.

Make more of an effort to bargain shop. I tried to avoid shopping in 2006 (to make up for 2005) and I was fairly successful but I started having holes in my wardrobe with things wearing out, going out of style, etc. So I need to hit the stores more often and look for some quality pieces on sale. That's my main priority. Essentially more shopping, less buying. I like this one.
Shoes. Either get rid of lots of shoes and invest in ones I'll wear all the time or start wearing all the ones I have in my closet. I have way too many pairs of "one night only" shoes and they're killing me, because I can't stomach buying more shoes when I have so many but I never want to wear the 3-4" heels to work because they hurt my feet. Or are too fancy. Must use more focus on buying shoes. Oh and take care of the shoes I wear often more. I need to get in good with a cobbler to fix the shoes I actually like. (new soles, heels, etc.)
Pants. Fine. I'll buy some damn pants this year. I refused to buy pants/jeans at all last year because I liked the way skirts looked better. But it's getting too impractical to wear skirts every, single time I leave the house. Boo.
Didn't do it last year, and late for this year, but better now than never right?
Since I've changed in my life situation and work situations so much in the past few years, my goal in 2007 is to streamline my closet which started in the end of 2006.
Weed out stuff that's too young for me (27 now). Although styles may be young, it's more about the quality of the clothes & shoes that shows it's too young and cheap for me.
Purge and purge the closet.
Buy a couple more really good handbags - have my eye set on a Chanel Caviar and a LV Epi Leather.
Take better care of my shoes (I have started that end of '06 - taking satin shoes to drycleaners)
Organize my closet into categories and colors (like I used to before I moved home) It takes me so long to get dressed when I can't find anything.
Try to eliminate drawer usuage - never look in drawers so those clothes never get worn.
Wear my dresses more often by layering for everyday looks.
Wear scarves in my scarf collection more often!
Find a great pair of comfortable and chic black heel s (not too high) for work.
Find some cool ways to wear skirts from my work (St. john) in more interesting ways.
try to shop with an intention rather than going and just buying a bunch of random things.
