don't feel like an idiot - if you've never done it before, you've never done it before.

I will instruct you using the site I use to host my photos. It's pretty intuitive, and you're smart - this won't be hard at all.

Go to shutterfly and open a free account.

After you have created your account, hit the tab at the top of the page that reads "add pictures" 

Select "new album" (you can rename the album to London and Paris or whatever you want), then hit the blue "next" button on the upper right.

Hit the orange "choose pictures..." button.
Select the folder within your computer that holds the pictures you want to upload.
Click on the little box under the thumbnail of the picture(s) you want to upload.
Hit the orange "add selected pictures" button.

After they have completed uploading, you can hit "view pictures." You can then select the picture you wish to view, and scroll through them using the arrows as well.  You can copy and paste from here just as you would any other image hosted on the web.
