I find myself at a crossroads in life. I know that I am sick of working where I currently do, but I don't know where to go from here. Anyone want to help brainstorm? Here's a brief list of my qualifications/experience:
-2 years in export/shipment coordination. During those two years have also worked on making marzipan sales in US, and basics of almond trading. My job entails a lot of attention to detail, some negotiation, a lot of client interaction on the phone.
-Have also worked as an author's assistant, and in sales (retail and vacation sales)
-B.A. in International relations
-Fluent in French, extremely well traveled
-Enjoy research, writing - won an award in college for one of my papers.
-Things I love: Fashion (of course ), travel, reading, international relations.
Perhaps you could do some freelance work writing travel reviews or articles about travel...that could turn in to a full time column or job with a publication?
Thanks for the ideas! I'm definitely interested in public affairs, and I've been tossing around the idea of moving to the D.C. area. I just don't think SF is the right place for anything other than radically liberal/hippie-dippie stuff. While I'm liberal, I'm not dread-head, patchouli, granola crunching liberal. If you happen to think of anything else, I'm all ears!
