Norfold Island Pine?

So at Fred Meyer they had these Norfolk Island Pine trees:

Norfolk Island Pine

Being stupid we got 4 of them thinking we could use them to decorate the house for the holidays and then plant them outside afterwards because they are evergreens and this is the Northwest afterall!

The bad part is that is does not like weather below 45-50 degrees!  In the winter nights are 30ish.  So now we have a lot of indoor houseplants.

So my question is has anybody has/had one of these plants and how well did it go?  I read the care instructions online and this plant seems pretty picky.

I killed mine in about 2 months. We have one at work that is limping along under my care. However, my grandmother has had the same one for as long as I can remember, so at least 25 years. They are super slow growing!

Good luck with yours.

My mom had one get pretty big, but she has a green thumb.  It grew about another circle of branches every year.
