STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

Ladies,

We're having a NYE party (my DH "hates" going out on NYE bc it's expensive, impossible to get a cab (we're in NYC) and he's anti-pre fixe) so, in order to aviod the inevitable, but-i-want-to-go-out-dancing-and-get-dressed-up-while-we're-still-young-fight we're having a party in our apt.

Now I've getting excited.

BUT, we do not have anough chapagne flutes. I knowe we can use any old cups, but I'm a tradiationalist and this is an excuse to shop for home accessories.

Issues: I don't want to plastic kind w/the bottoms you stick on yourself, they always break and i don't want spills (or too many spills). I'd love nice glass ones but don't want to spend $$$.

We just bought stemless wine glasses: and I'd love to get matching flutes (I know I said I'm a traditionalist and stemless flutes are not traditional...I suppose I'm a modern traditionalist, meaning my champagne must be in a flute, but I'm willing to be creative?)

I haven't been able to find any of these that aren't $$$.

Help please! Or any other suggestions. The party is Black and White, attire and decoration and food (really only clear liquids[chapagne, white wine, vodka, white cranberry juice, sprite, seltzer, etc] and choc food [ marble cheescake,10 brownies cut-up into bite-size,milano cookies reg size and minis, after eights,black/white M&Ms,ho-hos or hostess cupcakes?,mini black and whites, raisins/blanched almonds/white m&ms]

this ended up being longer than anticpated...
