i miss my family sooo much!  I can't wait to go home this wednesday night (i live in nyc, they are in maryland) til sunday.  i talked to my dad on the phone tonight and just hearing his voice made me feel like a little girl again- i can't wait to joke around with my little brother (who is 14 almost now!  ahh) and my sister, to see my parents and eat dinner with them, to go out w/my hs and college friends.  No point to this post, but I hope everything is going well for everyone as the holidays kick off.  I know i have a LOT to be thankful for, though its so easy to take for granted.   I love my parents so much and it kills me that they won't be around for forever =(

me neither! I am going tomorrow at midday. I'm fighting a really strong urge to take the train instead of the bus... it's sooooo much more comfortable, but so expensive. I'm trying to tell myself the bus won't be too bad at midday on a weekday... I'm likely to have a seat to myself... right?

I'm happy for you guys! I can't go see my parents this year for the holidays and it sucks. Luckily, a lot of my friends are far from home, too, so I'll have people to hang out with.

Awww!  Going home is so much fun.  I've become slammed at work since last Friday and one of my cats needs to start twice daily antibiotics tonight.  I'm trying to figure out if I can still go home and enjoy myself, or if I should stick it out here and get some work done and not board my poor little kitty.  Our tickets are fully refundable...and my mom sounded so sad when I called to let her know it was a possibility!

Yay! I can't wait to go home either! This thread makes me happy.

I'm taking a train out of Penn Station late tomorrow morning. My brother, his wife, and their almost one year old son are already home with my parents and I have serious ants in my pants to see them and play with my nephew.

Sephorablue, you should be totally fine with getting a seat at that hour. Although maybe you've already left...? In either case, I hope it went well!

Thanks for asking!  My kitty is fine!  He has a little infection and needs to take meds 2x a day but my wonderful brother in law and his girlfriend have volunteered to come over until Sunday morning when DH and I come back.


I was really worried yesterday when the vet called, but since he can get his meds and stay in our house, I'm a lot happier!


Now, home to my mother's wonderful food and apple pie.  And my big fat kitty is next to me purring up a storm.
