Oh my gosh, sweetie...I am so thrilled for you. I know that this probably won't change much in you being completely stressed and overworked but its fantastic that your company realizes that you are so utterly valuable. Seriously, do you get to perhaps hire people soon? Actually, now that I'm thinking about it...what would be the issues behind you telling them that instead of you taking a pay increase but them hiring you an assistant? Or a smaller raise? I know that you are way underpaid anyway but just an idea to flirt with.

How cool will it be that now when you are looking for a new job (which baby...you still need to do, especially for one down here...) that you can tell interviewers that you are a DIRECTOR!!! It sounds so fancy and grown up.

Anyway..congrats a thousand times over. You totally deserve the recognition for your awesomeness.

So, today was the weekly management meeting at work. My boss came out of the meeting and said that he didn't think that 'director' was going to work (and I could totally tell that it was coming from someone other than him and he was forced to parrot it to me). So at the moment, I'm title-less. Craptastic.

I'm so pissed. I know that this is a pay thing b/c they are notorious for underpaying and I was already grossly underpaid (and undertitled). I guess I'm going to continue to be underpaid and undertitled. And overworked.

I'm also pretty sure that if I had a penis that this wouldn't be an issue. I blew up at someone today for referring to me as the 'marketing girl.' That is sooooo sexist. My gender should never be associate with my job title and I'm the only one in the company that they do that to (it's happened multiple times before).

So, looks like someone might need to start looking for a job. This sucks. Alot.

oh man, I'm so sorry. and you are so right about the penis thing - wouldn't be an issue at all if you had that piece of flesh dangling betwixt your legs.  start looking, start looking, start looking... you know I'll be a reference for you if you need one.

that's so awful!!! They shouldn't have told you that you would have this position until they were sure. Way to let your hopes down. You do need another job where you're appreciated (and paid!)

Wow.  Just...wow.  That is beyond terrible of them.  I really hope you find something else soon where you can be appreciated, titled, and paid what you deserve.

Mother frigging fugger. Seriously, Kenzie, this is just ridiculous. Just keep thinking of all the fantastic experience you are getting and maybe in a teeeeeeeeeeny way that will make everything okay. I totally am hoping that Santa brings you a new job, I'm putting that on my list that will get mailed out this weekend.

Dear Santa,
My dear friend Kenzie has a crappy under-paid, under-respecting, over-working job. Can you bring her a nice new one where she is appreciated for the goddess that she is? I promise that she deserves it, she has been a very good girl this year. Thank you very very much.

Relrel

P.S. I would like some fuzzy socks with reindeer on them and maybe also some bubble gum in tooti-fruiti flavor. I'm sure Kenzie would like fuzzy socks as well, maybe in Temple colors. Actually, everybody loves fuzzy socks, perhaps drop a pair or two into everybody's stocking this year while you are doing all that other present-bringing.

Teeheee!!!

Actually, what's keeping me from totally losing it is remembering how much worse it used to be before I had a job in my field. But yeah, my resume is polished up and ready to go.

However, I'm applying to grad schools out of the state and plan to start in the fall, so I'm not sure that I want to get a new job here for only a few months. My lease is up in June and that's when I plan to be in a new city. So, unfortunately, unless something really stellar comes up, I think I'm going to suck it up and deal until spring/summer.
