How did everyone feel about the show??? I LOVED it, it was definitely the best one this season in my opinion. I cannot wait until Feb. and knowing that there will be 16 new shows with no repeats almost makes it worth the wait.
I can't believe that Sawyer and Kate finally did "it"! And in a cage where anyone at anytime could see them no less. I can understand though, I'd have a hard time keeping my hands off of Sawyer.
I know some people don't like the Sawyer/Kate/Jack triangle, but man last night was HOT!
I'm confused about one part of Kate's backstory though - the part where she got the positive pregnancy test, and then in the next scene when she left her husband she told him that she 'almost had a baby!'. Does anyone know what the intended time frame between those scenes was? Did she have an abortion between them? Miscarry? Is she still pregnant? Me no understand!

Wait - I thought the pregnancy test was negative? I'm so confused now. I really liked it - but I feel kind of bad for Jack. Do you think Sawyer really loves her?
I am rather pissed about the wait until February. My other shows aren't doing this or showing repeats - I don't get it. Why do they cut out mid season?

I'm pretty certain that the pregnancy test was negative. My impression was that Kate just had a pregnancy scare, and that prompted her to realize how her life with Kevin would never be quite right. I loved her crying and saying "Taco Night, I don't do Taco Night!" or something like that. Too funny.
I like it when they show Kate as having real emotions. Sometimes she is such a robot.
I agree that was the best episode of the new season. I'm so bummed that we have to wait until February to get more. I think I'm going to watch my season 1 and 2 DVD's during the break.
Ooooohhh - that makes more sense if the test was negative. Now that I think about it, it was one of those + or - tests, and hers showed a - . Then she must have been crying out of relief ...? But then the line about how she 'almost had a baby' is kind of a poor choice of words, if you ask me.
I honestly don't think that Kate and Sawyer really loooove each other. They've been isolated together for some time, gone through many traumatic things together, they don't know if they're going to live or die. Emotions run high, y'know? I think it's another play on the whole Lord of the Flies undercurrent - that they revert to their more animal instincts, and sometimes that means doing things you wouldn't under more normal circumstances. IMO they could totally work on the island, but wouldn't ever last in 'normal' life - the visceral, basic relationship suits them well, but they'd never make it if they had to fight about Taco Night .

also: in an earlier season, didn't kate say that she killed the only man she had ever loved? was it this husband? can't remember correctly.
ooh, I forgot about that... I had assumed she meant Tom (was that his name?) but she did seem to really love the husband... maybe he never woke up from the drugging?
is alex's boyfriend benry...? why did he ask if she asked about him?
Oh God, I hope not! That's just gross. I can't wait to get more into the Alex story.
When Kate said she killed the only man she ever loved, I also thought she was talking about Tom. (That's the childhood friend that died in the car chase, right?) She certainly did seem to love Kevin tho.
Did anyone else think Kate's hair was exceptionally weird in flashbacks? The bangs were driving me crazy.
is alex's boyfriend benry...? why did he ask if she asked about him?
I was thinking maybe he was her dad. Rousseau is her mom, right? I assumed The Others are part of Rousseau's old team, but I guess they never confirmed that, did they?

I thought that all of Rousseau's team died from 'the sickness' and that the Others took Alex when she was a baby. Maybe Ben is a father figure to her. Maybe she even thinks that he actually is her father.
Anyway, I loved this episode! Did anyone catch Pickette saying 'Shepherd wasn't even on Jacob's list.' Who the hell is Jacob? Whoever he is, he didn't want Jack.
And I liked how Ben was like, 'done' in reference to getting Jack off 'this island.' Yeah, of course...off of Ben's island and back to the other island with the other Losties.

ohh yeah, I forgot. Did she say they actually died? Or just got "the sickness"? Could "the sickness" = brainwashing?
kenzie (and others) - why do you think they have never seen Ben's island before, during all of their jaunts/surveying around the island? That seems weird to me. They should have seen it from the really high points (like the cliff Hurley was on), no?

Such a good episode! I don't even know what to say.
Why wasn't Jack on the list? I'm confused.
Alex is kind of psycho, but in a good way. But why does she care so much about Sawyer and Kate and the losties?
Oh, and did Jack agreeing to do surgery mean that he would get off the others' island or that him, Kate, and Sawyer would all get off the island together?
So many questions...I don't know if I can wait until February.

Kate aka Monica's test was negative. I was confused at first too and I had to watch it over again. But I think because of her pregnancy scare she realized she couldn't continue to live a lie. I loved the "taco night" line too, hehe. That whole attempted escape by Alex was kinda funny. I mean, the Others had guns and she had a slingshot?? Did she think should could pull off a david and goliath?
And does anyone know who Jacob is in reference to Pickett's line "Shepard wasn't even on Jacob's list?"
I don't think Kate ever said that she killed the only man she ever loved. When she finally got the toy airplane back she said that it belonged to the man she loved. Then when Jack finally pressed her on it, she said it belonged to the man she killed. But to the best of my knowledge, she didn't say that the airplane belonged to the only man she ever loved and happened to kill. So, I think she may have just left Kevin and he's probably still alive. (Hmmm...I wonder if he'll show up in anyone else's backstory???)
I am rather pissed about the wait until February. My other shows aren't doing this or showing repeats - I don't get it. Why do they cut out mid season?
I read something at TVGuide.com about this -- the producers' explanation is that is takes so long to make an episode of Lost (8 shooting days per episode) that either they have to have periodic repeats like they did last year, or have two mini seasons like they're trying this year, or they'd have had to take a longer break between seasons to make the show (like they do with The Sopranos).
I also thought this was the best episode of the season! It was back to the good old shocking, pulse-pounding twists; I loved seeing Jack turn things around on The Others. And that scene with Kate and Sawyer was very hot, although I couldn't help thinking that they must be all gross and dirty from the work they're doing.
Remember that guy who was first in the cage across from Sawyer? The one who tried escaping? I think he was Alex's boyfriend.
eta: I think NCShopper is right about what Kate said -- she killed the man she loved, not the only man she loved.

I agree, Karl was Alex's boyfriend. I have a theory. I think the Others were trying to get Kate pregnant by Sawyer. For some reason, the Others are sterile. I think that maybe Alex and Karl were test subjects before Kate and Sawyer. Remember a few episodes ago when Kate was working and Alex told Kate that the clothes she was wearing used to be hers? I wonder if they were trying to use Alex and Karl to have an Other baby and it didn't work.

I think you are definitely on to something, Bastet. I thought the Others might be putting Kate and Sawyer in situations that would intentionally cause them to become closer and start to rely on one another more.
