LOS ANGELES - A day after Britney Spears filed divorce papers, Kevin Federline counter-filed court papers Wednesday seeking sole custody of the couple's two children. The former backup dancer and aspiring rapper is also seeking spousal support.
"Kevin is prepared to go the distance in order to do what he feels is necessary to protect and safeguard the children and will not be intimidated or dissuaded from pursuit of those goals," said Michael Sands, spokesman for Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.
Citing "irreconcilable differences," Spears filed for divorce Tuesday.
Spears, 24, married Federline, 28, in 2004. They have a 1-year-old son, Sean Preston, and an infant son, Jayden James, who was born Sept. 12.
Spears married Federline eight months after ending a 55-hour Las Vegas marriage to her childhood friend, Jason Alexander. Her second marriage provided endless fodder for tabloids, which speculated frequently that the union was in trouble.

that's it. he's got nothing to lose by dragging her through the mud, does he? I bet he threatened her with airing her dirty laundry if she didn't cough up some cash. This is probably going to get messy and we'll get to know more about those two than we ever wanted... let the show begin!

Yup...there was something I read recently about a sex tape. He has nothing to lose, while she has everything to lose and I'm sure he certainly wouldn't have a problem if the sex tape got into the wrong hands.
I was just reading a story about that sex tape. Us Weekly had ran a story about them making one and Britney/K-Fed sued them about it and said this rumor had damaged her image. On either Monday or Tuesday this week a judge ruled in Us Weekly's favor and said Britney had been using her sexuality to her financial advantage already for a long time, so she had no grounds to say her image had suffered from this.
I think there was also something in the original article in Us that described her as behaving in a "goofy" manner (apparently they had watched this tape with their lawyer and she acted "goofy" while doing it?) and being called goofy had pissed her off. That part made me laugh out loud -- granted, I read about all this in the New York Post, so who knows if it's true?

dfinitely. no question about it. and D is right, he has nothing to loose.
but it looks quite clear that the public opinion is with Britney. Have you guys seen the segment when Rosie e'Donnel announced that Britney filed for divorce?
I don't think Brit-Brit would win the Mother-of-the-Year award, not many would anyway. But Fed-Ex , was a SOB! He is only doing this for the $$, why doesn't he want sole custody of his other children? Oh wait Shar doesn't have any $$.
I know this is a very accepting forum and I would truly appreciate that no one judges me over what I'm about to admit.
