How to organize/set up a home office?
Permalink Closed

I work from home on the weekends pretty much all the time.  My desk and printer are located in a little loft over our living area...I live in a very modern townhouse...so I'm hovering about our dining and living areas...but I'd like some fun storage solutions for work/office supplies that are minimal but pretty.  I also use this space for doing yoga...so I'd like storage boxes and files that aren't too bright and distracting...but are still fun and pretty!  I will edit this to add pictures...

I too have a loft over my dining area that overlooks the living room.  There is a closet in ours, and we installed shelving against the back wall of the closet and put short filing cabinets under the shelving.  It's nice because you can just close the closet door and all the storage is hidden.

if you don't have a closet, pretty organizers like these would be nice:

also consider repurposing something that's not intended for office use, but has the look and function you're looking for, like this chef's work table:

oh my. I'm jealous. My "home office" is an old kitchen table set up in the corner of my apartment, with all of my work junk spread all over and a dying "lucky" bamboo plant. It also featured an ant invasion last week (I figured out that they were living in my bamboo plant's pot! Hence its early demise)

So... I'm looking forward to hearing ideas, too!

Yay!  I am so glad others share this problem.  I saw Russel and Hazel's products in Domino a few weeks ago...they have a website too: www.russellandhazel.com (I think), with tons of nifty storage ideas in cool colors.

D - I actually have a closet right in the loft as well.  I have some built ins - but should really find a way to put more in - so I can hide everything.

I'll try to take some pictures soon - it's basically the other side of where I take my ST pictures!
