I went to whole foods and they were sampling this yummy steak, so I got it. Im so nervous about making this steak its not even funny! Its a flank steak, and i think im going to cook it in a skillet. Wish me luck!
As for the sides, I bought a bunch of things, im not sure if they all go together or not, so maybe someone can clue me in.
I bought Mashed potatoes, Corn on the Cob, grilling shrimp to go with the steak, and mushrooms to go with the steak, and I got carrots too
Is this too much? I definitely want to cook the shrimp and mushrooms, but not sure about everything else?

That might be too many dishes for me, but I'm sure my husband would disagree! He thinks more food is always better. So you can decide if your bf would feel the same.
You can easily throw some mushrooms in the skillet with the steak, the steak'll absorb some good mushroomy juices. Mashed potatoes are key IMO, and you said you definitely want the do the shrimp. So I'd just decide between corn and carrots and do just one of those.
Good luck! No matter what you decide, your bf will definitely be impressed!
