I never shop at the Limited there isnt one near my house. Well, I was at a friends nearby one and decided to pick up some pants on sale. I thought they would be like express but once I got them home and compared they really weren't. So the next evening I tried to take them back. The sales girl said she couldnt return them because she only had $100 in her register. I paid $80 cash. She said she can't let her register fall below $50 because someone else may come in the store and need change. The mall was closing in THIRTY MINUTES. So she told me to come back the next day. I told her I was from out of town - she didn't care. So my friend agreed to take them back for me and give me the money, but what a STUPID policy. I called their customer service number because NO WHERE in the store or on my receipt did it say "If you pay with cash you may have to make sure you come early in the morning when there is a lot of money in the register or we will refuse your return." Customer service said this is their policy and they dont plan on putting it in the store on receipts or anything because most people use debit/credit... umm yea, that makes sense
Having managed a retail store before, I find that hard to believe that its official store policy. I'm sure the SA just misunderstood something her boss told her. I totally remember telling my employees to let me know if they were running low on cash, and giving them some dollar amt. to remind them when they should let me know.
It sounds like she just didn't want to call someone to bring her more money. There is no way that entire store could only have had $100 especially at the end of the night. I don't blame you for being upset that is a big hassle.
that is completely ridiculous! i agree that she had to have more than that at the end of the nite and just didn't feel like asking someone to get her cash...every retail store i have worked at has had cash in the mgr's office. it may take some time and effort...but my goodness...it's called "customer service"!!
