When to use the ST ebay link?

This might be a question for D, but anyone might know. We all know to use the links on ST when shopping to keep it funded and running. My question is: when should I use the ebay link? Should I use it when I first search and bid on an item, or if I've already won an item should I use the link to login to ebay and pay for it?

Commission is earned when you place a winning bid.  Honestly, I am just in the habit of entering eBay through the ST link only - I even have my husband trained to do this. That way, there's never any question as to whether the sale took place through the link or not (he made a $400+ purchase once and forgot to go through the link - hence the household rule of only clicking through the ST eBay link!)


I basically have myself trained to only visit our advertisers by clicking through the ST links - it saves me from typing it out at least
