I'm thinking of trying a meal plan diet out, you know the kind where they deliver the food to you. Because of my schedule, the lack of non-"homecooking" restaurants around here, and the fact that I have to drive an hour to find a decent grocery store...I think this might be the best idea for me.
Has anyone ever tried a diet like this?
Any recommendations?

I tried Nutrisystem last year because I thought it sounded like a quick fix and I'm a diet whore. I honestly couldn't follow it because I thought the food was SO nasty and I'm really not a picky eater. I think if you want to eat low calorie, portion controlled meals... Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones are the way to go. I've had great success in the past losing weight by just eating those for meals. I know they aren't super healthy (high sodium, perservatives, etc) but I think they taste good and are low in calories.

That's good to know! It would be hard enough to not eat my mom's cooking, but to have to replace it with something gross....think I should steer away from this one...
Thanks!

My former boss tried it (she was very overweight) and she looked like she was miserable every time she ate. She didn't lose any weight...at least not from what I could tell. I never thought the food looked appetizing, so I wouldn't try it myself.

I agree with this. I would just buy tons of the Lean Cuise and Smart Ones and then add a vegetable to each meal. For breakfast eat oatmeal.
I lost like 70 lbs living off of veggie burgers, stir frys, oatmeal, yogurt, pasta, fruit and veggies.
Well I finally tried the Nutrisystem and LOVE it! So does my husband. I think the food is similar to LC and SmartOnes, and I'm very picky on how my food tastes. I'm never hungry and I've lost some pounds and inches already. Plus the ingredients (sp?) are much healthier then the LC and SO. And i love that I dont have to store it in the freezer...I can just throw my meal in my purse and heat it up when I'm hungry.
