i looooooooved uli's collection - it was amazing. i'm cool w/jeffrey winning though, i do agree that he's innovative and exciting - he reminds me of alexander mcqueen. but when it comes to what i'm going to be buying, uli all the way! i thought her gown that turns into a bathing suit was genius.
i'm glad they got a relevant guest judge this time. yay fern mallis! i love me some parker posey, but...
dumb jeffrey going overbudget. i thought there would be a harsher punishment than "oh! just trim your collection!" blech. his son is too frickin adorable, though.
sidenote: i also watched top chef (tom colicchio is still an asshat, and i still love harold), and holy shit, you can really see the budget disparity. screw the atlas apartments! they have beige motel cot blankets and ikea bunk beds!!
was anyone else bothered by the music that jeffrey and uli chose? i thought it was totally out of synch with the models' walks and made the whole thing feel disjointed. i kind of get what uli was trying to do -- the music was bubbly and light-hearted, but it just didn't work. it seemed like her models ended up walking to the weird beat. and jeffrey's was just totally wrong and depressing.
i'm glad jeffrey won -- i liked him and thought that he consistently went outside the box and was successful. that last dress -- green stripes and zippers --
Jeffrey's collection was probably the closest to my own aesthetic and while I agree that it's been done before I still enjoyed watching it come down the runway the most. However, I think it's so incredibly irresponsible of him to go over budget. In the real world, you don't win by going over budget. It sends the wrong message out to people...
I really enjoyed Uli's collection and I have to give her props for pushing herself to do items that were out of her comfort zone. She created a great collection that showed her range and she followed all the rules. She should have won.

I was thinking the same thing while I was watching Jeffrey's models walk down the runway. It was really awkward because they seemed unsure of how fast or slow to walk.
