I'm soooooo HAPPY!!!! But you girls know I wanted Necktoo to win all along I loved his designs and am so happy he won, I think he deserves it.
I was soo relieved that he was cleared of all suspision. Stupid Laura. Her collection was beautifully made, but so typical of her. Michael made me sad, I really love him, but I didn't care for his collection. Uli's was beautiful, but to me slightly boring.

ditto! i really wanted uli to win, i loved everything she showed! necktoo's was ok, but just so not my style....so it's hard for me to like him. can't wait for next year!!!
well I guess style is subjective.. because I actually found his collection to be rather drab. I yawned through the whole show. I wouldn't ever wear ANYTHING he showed.
Laura's collection was beautiful..but I agree..there was nothing innovative about it I was totally rooting for Michael he was a complete dissapointment.. but Uli's collection was just beautiful..I'd wear almost every single thing she showed
I really don't understand how these judges come to their decision. Same BS of last year..Chloe's collection looked like debutant gone bad and she wins??!?!?
The year before that...KaraSun's collection was CLEARLY better and has proven herself to be the better designer..yet Jay wins???
I am SOOOO disappointed!!!I wanted either Michael or Laura to win until I saw Uli's runway collection, then I wanted her to win. I thought it was fabulous!!
She went out of her comfort area and still made beautiful garments...I wanted anyone but Jeffery to win.His attitude made his line ugly(truth be told I wanted Kayne to win...I'm such a fag hag)
But maybe this is like American Idol, you know where the true winner gets second place and becomes a bigger star...just a trend Ive noticed...

Like you said, I think style is subjective. What I think is beautiful, you find drab and vice versa It's like any competition..some people are thrilled Jeffrey won, some people are pissed!
I think that they will all be very successful no matter what. Seriously...Malan was the second to go and he had the backing to go to OFW on his own. They will all be just fine.
BTW, I would have worn anything in Laura's line or Uli's, but I was pleasantly surprised by most of Jeffrey's I really did like it...except the black shoes. WTF?

i like that jeffrey is more edgy (that is more what i relate to normally), BUT i didn't think his collection was that good. To me, Uli had a better collection, but i knew she was a goner when nina said that everyone was asking for uli's clothes- i knew they didn't want to make it too obvious. I honestly think they'll all make it- they're all talented in different ways.
this hasn't even aired on the west coast, but OMGWTFBBQ
i've seen the nymag photos of the shows, and i knew laura (yawn) and michael (blech babyphat) weren't going to win, but i wanted uli to take it all. i guess i'm having a hard time dissociating the designer from the designs. if michael produced jeffrey's line, i wouldn't be as upset.
lynnie, i agree that i think all 4 will make it. they're good at what they do, and there's a market for each of their designs. hopefully they can capitalize on their PR exposure.
PS: wasn't alison supposed to debut her line @ shopbop to coincide with OFW? what happened?
I think I wanted Uli to win, but I kind of wanted Jeffrey to win, too. I loved him even though he was a prick sometimes. I LOOOVED that green & white dress with the zippers--so cool. And Michael, man, what a bummer. His work was so cool and sophisticated all season, but that collection was just trashy. What the hell happened?
I am still bouncing off the walls, I love love love Jeffrey's collection. Uli's was my second favorite. But I was not crazy about the metallics, and the necklines I have seen before. Loved her print pieces more actually. Jeffrey's collection was less wearable, but then so are most haute couture collections, but they both inspire others and eventually get translated down. I would kill for the striped jacket!
Jeffrey's win totally validates his arrogance and his rude behaviour. And I don't think his items were any better than Uli and Laura's. Where was his innovation? The judges all agreed that those two blue dresses stank -- and those were the items that weren't his usual rock and roll stock in trade.
Poor Michael, I knew he wouldn't win as soon as I saw the photos. I hope the other three have long careers ahead of them. I would love to own dresses by Uli and Laura.
Yay Jeffrey, but he was my least favorite of the four by far. I really wanted Uli to win. Her collection was awesome and I would have worn pretty much all of it. Loved Laura's but I would have picked one and worn it for the rest of my life. What she did on that budget was inredible though! I was disappointed in Michael...he was so great all season but his collection didn't really demonstrate that. Some of Jeffrey's was ok, but overall I just didn't like it. And I thought the green striped dress made the models butt look big.
being or producing something like nothing done or experienced or created before; "stylistically innovative works"; "innovative members of the artistic community"; "a mind so innovational, so original"
ahead of the times; "the advanced teaching methods"; "had advanced views on the subject"; "a forward-looking corporation"; "is British industry innovative enough?"
What did he do that no one has done...everything he sent down that runway has been worn either at CBGBs or a Green Day concert...its been done and done and done and done to death! I think that the judges were duped because they are not as familiar with that culture.
I was so frustrated last night. The judges wanted to see a range...but look at any great designer, they tend to focus on a limited amount of work...DVF dresses, Valentino, what makes them think Laura can't be like that.
As much as Laura was my favorite...I think Uli was the clear winner last night...although her color choices were a little drab...they would have eaten her alive if she would have showed a collection of her beautiful prints and dresses...they made her do that...and she rocked it!
1. I hate Jeffrey, I've seen everything he's done...in fact I think I wore one of those dresses to a ball two years ago...
2. Uli is my designer of choice for everything...I will own an Uli piece before the end of the year...I think she's one of the only designers out there that actually "speaks" to me...yeah, that sounds cheesy but I don't care!!! ULI FOREVER!!
