Here is how I ended up putting together my desk. Instead of buying an old vintage desk like I wanted I decided to save money and use an old desk my parents had in our basement. My favorite part of the whole ensemble is the chair I found. It totally makes it, and ties so well with the rest of my apartment. I added a quick snapshot of the living room of my apartment so that you get an idea of how well it flows (in my opinion). Now being away at school still allows me to feel at home with the homey feel of my apt. Oh and flowers are complements of my lovely boyfriend :) They seemingly fit perfect on my desk.
Dont mind the pictures on the left, they were on that wall before I put up the corkboard so Im currently looking for a new wall for them :)

OMG! How cute is your apartment?!!! I love it. I think that your desk is perfect; even better that it reminds you of home. Oh and I love the clock on your mantle. GREAT job!
love what you did with the chair! and i definitely think the chair and desk look great and tie the room together, even if the desk wasn't your first choice. nice job making a home-y apartment!
