I dont have pics yet but I need some ideas on Christopher room. The new place has ugly flower wallpaper so iam taking that down and painting his room. He has a space theme in his room. The bedding is dark blue with the moon and planets on it. Curtains are a deep red should I stay with white or go with another color?
Iam going to paint our bedroom too, not sure what color though. I have pics from a old post of my bedding and curtains but Iam in a hurry b/c I have to get to work so I will post them later.
here is my bedding colors should the walls just remain white??
since it's a space theme, i'd suggest a light to medium grey for the walls, maybe even doing one wall in more of a metallic grey/silver. or some type of detail/accent in the silver on grey. my other color suggestion would be a pale aqua that has grey undertones (i'm saying grey undertones so you're not thinking sky blue or water blue or something soft and light) the grey undertones will make it more masculine. i'd keep the paint a light to medium hue since the bedding and curtains have a lot of deep saturated color.
for your room:
a pale orange tinted neutral like honeysuckle. the deep garnet and plums in your bedding will look outstanding against honeysuckle. or you could play it a bit safer and go with a medium neutral brown (sand, cashew, muslin) again i'd keep the paint light to medium since you have deep saturated color in your fabrics in this room too.
what do you think? let me know if you need anymore ideas!
hotcocoa Thank you so much. We will be getting the paint tomorrow. I love, love your ideas of grey for Christopher room it matches the theme so well. The pale orange tinted neutral like honeysuckle for our room sounds beautiful and I never would have thought to use that color. Thank you so much. I will post pics after we are done.
For Chris' room, I'd say a high gloss (or as high as you're willing to go) silvery gray. You can probably get some good ideas at Home Depot in the Disney paint section. I'm sure they must have a Toy Story/Buzz Lightyear card. Do 3 walls in shiny gray and the wall that will be behind the bed a midnight blue (for the night sky). That way you can paint planets, rockets, stars, etc. at some point if you feel like it.
For your room, I'd say do something that is a bit more neutral for the walls since your bedding is more colorful. Find one of the more neutral tans from your comforter or go a shade or 2 darker than that color. If you really want to add a color, just do one wall (like the window wall or a nook, if there is one). maybe in a dark rust color from the bedding.
can you tell I'm a big fan of accent walls? i did that in my bedroom, my bathroom, and my oldest son's room.

Good Luck w/ the color choices!
This sounds a lot like what I would do... I have the walls in my room painted a mustardy-tany-goldy color (oh how acurate is that description). I think the colors in my bedding are similar to yours. I think it looks good with a more neutral wall.
Oh, and I like the idea of a butterscotch color on the walls of your room, too. Whatever coordinates with the golds/tans in your comforter. I always match a paint chip to one of the colors and then go lighter or darker from the perfect match. Does that make sense??????
Thanks ladies. MissMee I like the idea of midnight blue behind the bed. However since Iam not a artist when it comes to drawing I could go with wallies(planets, moon stars etc..) I will post pics when we are done and settled in. Painting is the fun part, I dread packing next week

One of my friends had a spce themed room when I was a kid that was awesome. It had med. gray walls and a black/midnight blue ceiling with glow-in-the dark stars on it. It was awesome.
