anyone still watching studio 60?

i liked it, particularly the danny-matt interaction. even steven weber's character is growing on me, but oh my god. if aaron sorkin doesn't get off his soapbox soon, someone might have to maim him.  and they need to hire a comedy writer who can actually write funny sketches.  i really like this show, but i want to still like it by the time january rolls around.

i'm glad you posted this. i like the show, but haven't been completely sold on it yet. last night was my favorite of the three episodes so far. i also like the danny/matt interaction, and it was nice to see harriet and matt interact without throwing around "you broke up with me" monologues.

i really found the comedia della arte thing annoying (i've probably misspelled that too). it was like the way they kept repeating the "network" reference in the pilot -- it's like a neon sign saying "see how smart and literate this show is!" still, i will keep watching for at least a couple more episodes.

I tivo'd the first two and just watched them the other day, I haven't had a chance to watch the third  yet, but so far I'm really liking it. There's just enough of Chandler in Matthew Perry's character for me to really like him. And like you both mentioned above the interaction between Danny and Matt is great. Plus Amanda Peet is a little unexpected, but nice. She really made me laugh in the first two episodes.

Did anyone else really want to watch the Crazy Christians skit? I was very curious about it...

best part about the commedia dell'arte thing was that they continued to mispronounce it every time.

it seems like this show doesn't really know what it wants to be. i think it'd be easier to swallow if they didn't show the sketches at all and focused 100% on the behind-the-scenes aspect of 'studio60' and just show audience reactions, or they commit to showing us good SNL-like comedy (matt albie is supposed to be a writing god, and with the addition of matt/danny, this show is supposed to be cutting edge... i don't buy it).  right now, it's doing neither.  they should bring over nate corddry's brother or some other daily show/colbert report/second city alum to write some bits.  they keep telling us they're supposed to be funny... really?

and i know i've said this before, but aaron sorkin is getting f'in annoying. i know writers are taught to write what they know, but i couldn't believe that bit he threw in about how cokeheads are better than drunk drivers  because they don't harm others. is he still smoking something?  (sorkin was busted for coke possession a few years ago) as much as i love his writing, i think i might like this show better if i didn't know anything about sorkin. blech.

don't get me wrong, though. i loved the first two episodes, and i still like the third if you ignore some aspects.  i just don't want to see it get too preachy/heavy handed/smug... hopefully the show will hit its stride, the characters will be fleshened out and i'll be able to thoroughly enjoy it without second-guessing myself.
