I am pear-shaped, and plan on getting one from forever 21 similar in shape and length to the second photo, but i am not sure how to wear it to my best advantage- i guess just with a tunic-y top underneath
how are you all wearing this? or is this a trend to skip?
I plan on wearing the one I got from Urban Outfitters with a black or grey turtleneck underneath and dark trouser jeans, my olive green pants, or slim dark jeans. I'm a pear shape too and I think these jackets can be flattering on our body type as well. I'd stay away from any top that hits below the top of the hip, just because I think that would draw attention the the butt/thighs instead of drawing attention to the jacket. But I think a flowy top like the one on the mannequin would look good since it hits at the top of the hip. I also plan on wearing mine with a long strand of pearls doubled or tripled to keep the focus up near my face.
love it. i think it looks very modern. can someone post some that they like in this thread- i like the net-a-porter one but i'm sure i can't afford it. i like the way its styled- i think you could really wear it with more than you initially think you can.
I really like them. I have a large chest though, so I wonder if they will make me look too big on top since there is no waist definition. Theory has a couple of cute ones, but I wonder if this look will be around long enough to make an investment worth it?
I like them! I'm pear-shaped and I have one jacket that's cropped and fairly boxy. I've worn it with trouser jeans and slimming a-line skirts and I really like the look. I definitely would not wear it with a bulky full skirt, though.
A pencil skirt would look adorable with a jacket like that.
I was surprised that some of them look cute on me (if I do say so myself ).
Here is the UO one I bought:
And lynnie, you should check out H&M. They have some cute ones. There's a 3/4 sleeve black and grey herringbone one I wanted but they didn't have my size.

zeitgeist4 and Tati, I love the outfits you posted. It seems like this trend works best with a pencil skirt or skinny pants to balance out the blousiness on top.
