Should I do it?

Hi girls, I just had an amazing offer cross my path.  The coordinator for the health programs at my university got word from my boss that I'm a really good fitness instructor.  The coordinator now had asked me to teach for my university!  It would be a credit kickboxing course and I would be making about $50 an hour which is HUGE because I'm 20 and in college. That's like, a million dollars to me. But there are a few problems. Here are my pros and cons:

Pros:

$50 an hour, first teaching experince (I'm going to school to be a teacher), working for a good university, will look GREAT on resumes

Cons:

I'd have to switch a class to the 8am session, I'd only have 10 minutes after kickboxing to get to my next class, I'd have to learn the steps and that will stress me out, I'd have to buy kickboxing cds about $30 each

To clarify, I'm now teaching at the rec center of my university as a student employeed by the school. I do a fitness program that students pay on their free time. If I took this job, I would be employeed as faculty working for the university, teaching a credit class-giving out homework on health and fitness, giving test, etc. My class would be on students transcripts, so it's a bigger deal.

Opinions? What should I do?

Ditto.  You could always let class out a little early.

Reading my post, it sounds great. The only thing is that its kickboxing. I taught kickboxing last year and requested not to this year because I felt so uncomfortable with it. There's a lot of choreography to it and it's hard for me to keep count, cue, and do the action at the same time. It really stressed me out last year. However, I wasn't making $50 and working for the university at that time so maybe there would be more motivation to work on it this year.

Go for it girl!  It is great experience for the future.  i.e. There will be many times in your career that you have to take on challenges that you are unsure of.  Have confidence and you will kick butt!!  (Pun totally intended!!)

I'm SO sorry! what a bitch, how dare she get the job instead of you?! lets hope she breaks a leg! seriously, like you said, maybe it was meant to be, it wasn't your time yet. I'm sure you'll have this oppurtunity coming to you again soon and maybe then you'll have more time on your hands......
