OMG, I totally remember that one... it was so funny.
I like the Colbert Report even more than the Daily Show these days... I think Stephen's interviews are better.
Here are some good Colbert quotes:
"Oedipus had a great sex life before he started asking questions."
"Researchers studying visual signaling have found that cute images stimulate the same pleasure centers of the brain aroused by sex, food, and mind-altering chemicals. And cuteness serves as an alternative to psychoactive drugs like cocaine. You have not known true euphoria until you’ve done a line of puppies off a stripper’s ass."
"Going to church. It’s my favorite part of being a believer. On a typical Sunday Morning while some people are enjoying brunch or enjoying a good tee time, I sit in church imagining them chained to a burning lake of unquenchable fire. You know it makes even the dullest sermon fly by."
i love both shows, but sometimes Stephen Colbert is so inappropriate it makes me cringe...mostly with guests. i do love the Word though.
I can't believe the abuse he gets away with when he does Better Know a District. I think that the congresspeople should ask their interns/pr staff what kind of show the Colbert Report is before they agree to go on the show. It's obvious which ones know about Colbert and which ones think they're going to be asked serious questions. Even though he asks insane and embarassing questions, I find myself laughing at the congresspeople anyway.

ITA. colbert sometimes goes overboard (i still him tho), but the congresspeople should have some inkling about who this strange guy is before they agree to an interview. i mean, come on! he's on comedy central!
okay, now the Better Know a District segments i loooooove! even when they clearly have no idea what's going on. i totally agree that it's their own fault for not having someone to find out who they're interviewing with. did you guys see the one where he had the guy saying stuff like "i love cocaine/hookers because..."? that was hilarious.
mostly i just don't like the "live" interviews when he doesn't even give them a chance to say anything because he has this joke he wants to make. i get that it's comedy too...but it seems pointless to have an interview if you don't give them a chance to talk too. i guess to be fair, jon stewart does this sometimes too.

I adore The Daily Show AND The Colbert Report, but I totally agree with this. The interviews are the most useless part of the show IMO.
